Given the evident adverse effects that global warming has brought to our times, modern societies are compelled to implement immediate alternatives and environmentally friendly actions that allow us to generate the energy that we require for our continuous development.
The Government of Mexico, aware of these facts, carries out important efforts in addition to those made by the global community in order to reverse the consequences of overheating the planet.
As part of the actions implemented in our country, there is the promotion of the use of renewable resources to be used as fuel in the production of clean energy.
Methane is a greenhouse gas that retains heat twenty-one times more than carbon dioxide, which do not dissipate in the atmosphere, creating the effect called global warming.
Methane gas is the main component of biogas which is generated from the anaerobic decomposition process of organic matter.
Landfills are large emitters of biogas and this represents a great opportunity to contribute to the preservation of the environment since this gas, through the application of appropriate techniques and equipment, can be used as a green fuel that displaces fossil fuels from non-renewable sources.
The great challenge is to have the necessary economic resources for the acquisition and implementation of the equipment, as well as the training of specialized personnel that allows the efficient operation of this advanced technology.
